Green Irish Tweed by Creed

by Kori Ellis on August 17th, 2008

Cologne and perfume is always a great gift idea. The House of Creed – one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious fragrance companies – has a storied history of creating some of the most esteemed cologne and perfumes in the world, and most often at the request of a famous actor, actress, prince, dignitary, first Lady, King or Queen.

Green Irish Tweed by CreedOne of the most recognizable colognes created by Creed is Green Irish Tweed. The cologne, which was originally hand-fashioned for Hollywood Golden Age actor Cary Grant, was the first of the British fragrance company’s to make it to the shores of the U.S.A. It has remained popular among both the thousands of Creed fans and elite socialites alike – including Robert Redford, Richard Gere, and Prince Charles to name only a few.

In crafting its meticulously designed fragrances, the House of Creed spares no expense: authentic and rare ingredients come from around the world to be blended together. In the case of Green Irish Tweed, which is described as a sporty yet sophisticated fragrance, verbena is acquired from France, Iris from Florence, and sandalwood from Mysore (India). Tweed is rounded out by ambergris and violet leaves to fashion a scent that has captivated the wealthy and the common alike for generations.

This cologne definitely isn’t cheap. A 1-ounce bottle of the eau de parfum spay is $122 right now at Neiman Marcus. Check out the rest of the Creed collection for both men and women.
